Incapacity and Health Care Attorney

It Is Time to Pay Attention!
Let's face it. We are getting old, faster than we ever expected and besides we never believed it could happen. Yet,
it is happening and to a whole lot of us, all at once. According to the United States Census Bureau,
Baby Boomers are those persons born between 1946 and 1964. Thus, the oldest of us are now 63 and the youngest are 45. Its a huge wave, the largest ever consisting of more than 76 million Americans, and its swelling masses are going to impact us all in ways most didn't imagine 10 years ago.
The baby boomers are poignantly aware that the world of our childhood and of our ancestors is passing. We remember what the planet looked like to us so many years ago and perceive the differences in ways that only those older than us remain sensitive to. Its an accident of timing. We have the fortune of being the witnesses.
Today's changing circumstances have immediate and dramatic implications for life's decisions that we, and our parents, make or ignore today. We still live in a world that allows predetermination but we tend to ignore our responsibilities. While the political and environmental systems may be out of balance, the rights of the individual as the American experience uniquely allows continue to dominate. Our government supports self-determination in ways that are not enjoyed anywhere else on the planet. We Boomers are still writing legislation. That will change soon enough.
The problem is this: Just as we have ignored some of the consequences of consumption that are unsustainable so too we tend to ignore caring for our individual futures as we age.
